Nicki Stewart is an accomplished multidisciplinary artist, educator, and curator whose sustainable work engages themes of gender, ancestry, and social and political structures. Using repurposed textiles and reclaimed metal, she creates dynamic visual art that explores stories of connection, shared experiences, and trauma, encouraging viewers to engage with her pieces in meaningful, impactful ways.

Nicki is a graduate of the California Institute of the Arts (CalARTS). Her artistic journey commenced in the vibrant world of film and television, starting in Los Angeles and then in New Mexico. In 2021, Nicki moved on from the film industry and dedicated herself fully to her work as a visual artist.

In recent years, Nicki's work has gained recognition in several notable publications, including Quiltfolk New Mexico Issue 33, The New Mexico Field Guide, Northern Eclecta, and Tempo. She actively leads workshops on embroidery, block printing, and natural dyeing techniques, and has participated in exhibitions and taught workshops across the country, as well as engaging in both U.S. and international art residencies.
