American artist Nicki Stewart is a textile artist who braids fabric collages with embroidery, block printing, and found objects. Her work explores themes around identity, gender, sustainability, and ancestry. Using needle and thread, she creates images that speak to the heart of overlooked or underrepresented subjects.

Sustainability and regeneration are central to her storytelling. She believes in the mental and environmental benefits of mending and the value of reviving and reusing materials in a more circular approach to living, wearing, and experiencing art. By expanding on stories of women’s history, incarceration, and mental health, she hopes to establish a deeper connection to shared experiences in her work.

Nicki is the founder and creator of a small business called Knomad Tiger. www.knomadtiger.com
